Position: Import Manager (Sourcing)
Industry: Automotive Component Manufacturing (Rubber Parts, Gaskets, Aluminum Components & Castings)
CTC: ₹10–12 Lakhs PA
Location: Vadodara
Role Summary
The Import Manager will be responsible for managing import sourcing activities and supplier coordination for automotive components sourced mainly from China and Korea. The role focuses on supplier development, sourcing strategy, commercial coordination, cost optimization, and ensuring uninterrupted supply of materials for production requirements. Strong knowledge of aluminum metallurgy and automotive components is essential for effective technical discussions with suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
• Handle import sourcing activities for automotive components from China & Korea
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with overseas suppliers
• Coordinate with suppliers for quotations, order confirmations, production updates, and dispatch planning
• Drive cost optimization and commercial negotiations with suppliers
• Identify and develop new suppliers for automotive components and raw materials
• Work closely with Purchase, PPC, Quality, and Engineering teams for smooth sourcing operations
• Monitor supplier performance, delivery commitments, and quality expectations
• Support technical discussions related to aluminum alloys, castings, and automotive components
• Coordinate with suppliers for corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
• Manage sourcing risks related to supplier delays, quality concerns, or material shortages
• Prepare sourcing reports, supplier comparison analysis, and MIS dashboards
Required Qualifications & Experience
• Graduate in Supply Chain / Engineering / Commerce or related field
• 5–10 years experience in import sourcing or international procurement in manufacturing industry
• Strong experience handling China & Korea suppliers
• Experience in automotive components, aluminum castings, rubber parts, or gaskets preferred
• Strong commercial negotiation and supplier management skills
• ERP/MRP and Excel proficiency
• Working knowledge of aluminum metallurgy and automotive components
Preferred Experience
• Supplier development and vendor management exposure
• Direct interaction with Chinese suppliers and factory coordination
• Experience travelling to China for supplier development or sourcing activities
• Exposure to Korea-based sourcing operations
• Knowledge of PPAP/APQP documentation preferred
