🎯 We’re Hiring: Quality & QMS Engineer – Paint Shop (Powder Coating & Liquid Painting)

Job Summary
A leading auto parts manufacturing company is looking for a Quality & QMS Engineer to oversee quality assurance, process control, and quality management systems for powder coating and liquid painting operations.
The role involves ensuring compliance with customer requirements, automotive standards, and internal process controls, with a strong focus on CNH, ISO 9001, and IATF 16949 requirements.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in paint shop quality systems, defect analysis, process audits, documentation, and customer compliance within an automotive or industrial manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Paint Shop Quality Control
Monitor and control quality of powder coating and liquid painting processes
Ensure compliance with paint thickness, adhesion, gloss, curing, surface preparation, and finish standards
Implement inspection plans and process controls for painted components
Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for paint-related defects
Monitor process parameters including pretreatment, curing ovens, paint mixing, and environmental conditions
QMS & Compliance
Maintain and improve QMS as per ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards
Ensure compliance with CNH customer-specific requirements
Prepare and maintain SOPs, control plans, PFMEA, work instructions, and inspection records
Coordinate internal audits, layered process audits, and customer/external audits
Support PPAP, APQP, MSA, SPC, CAPA, and traceability requirements
Customer & Supplier Quality
Handle customer complaints and related quality documentation
Coordinate with production, maintenance, and suppliers to improve process stability
Monitor rejection trends, rework, and warranty issues
Drive continuous improvement and defect reduction initiatives
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain quality records and calibration systems
Generate NCRs, quality reports, and analysis reports
Track KPIs such as rejection, rework, customer complaints, and process capability
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of powder coating and liquid painting quality requirements
Good understanding of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 systems
Hands-on experience with PPAP, APQP, PFMEA, SPC, MSA, 8D, CAPA
Knowledge of paint testing methods and inspection standards
Audit handling and corrective action capability
Strong documentation and reporting skills
Preferred Qualifications
Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical, Production, Metallurgy, Chemical, or related field
Experience in automotive or heavy engineering industry
Exposure to CNH requirements (preferred)
Knowledge of surface preparation and pretreatment processes
